Du Nord Hotel, the intimate 4 star hotel with modern first class comfort, is an oasis of hospitality - a traditional hotel with a personal, family atmosphere. This charming hotel has been managed by the family Engel for 5 generations and represents the oldest family business in Interlaken (since 1847). The guests enjoy a splendid view of the well-maintained hotel garden, the castle's park and both churches, as well as the world-famous “Jungfrau".
The majority of rooms are three star standard. They are decorated in a more rustic style and are in very good condition. The bathrooms are in very good condition too.
The exterior of the hotel is traditional and of chalet type architecture which is very well maintained. The small lobby is traditional in style with lots of wooden touches. The hotel comes highly recommended.

Du Nord Hotel is located virtually equidistance from East and West railway stations overlooking Hohematte, Interlaken's huge "village green".

* The hotel's restaurant is decorated with a lot of ornate wooden beams and furniture and serves typically Swiss food of an extremely high standard. This restaurant is one of the best in Bernese Oberland and comes highly recommended.

* The rooms vary in size and shape but on average, they are medium sized. The rooms also vary in style. The hotel has a small percentage of superior rooms, which beautifully decorated in grand traditional style. The standard rooms are decorated in a more simple rustic style and are in very good condition. The bathrooms too are in very good condition.
