The Castille Hotel is a superior category three-star hotel situated in the heart of Malta's captivating capital city Valletta. It was originally built as the residence of the influential De Robertis family at the turn of the sixteenth century.
Captain Giacomo De Robertis, a Bolognese then passed the building on to the Testaferrata family and later to the Marquis Cassar Desain.

* La Cave La Cave Wine Cellar and Pizzeria occupies the basement of the former palace of the influential Capitano Giacomo de Robertis, who was in the employ of the Knights of Malta. It later passed into the possession of some of the leading Maltese families including the Testaferrata and the de Sain families. The cellars of La Cave formerly housed a bakery/kitchen complete with terracotta oven, a stable with ramp leading to the courtyard, a mill room cum wine cellar and storage areas. As with most of the buildings in Valletta, the stores used for the palace were dug out of the bottom of the basement thus creating wells. As a matter of fact a vast interconnecting well-water storage system lies beneath La Cave. The conversion to the present outlet was kept to a bare minimum causing no modern day mutilation. The building retains all its originality including stone water pipes and air vents. Every effort has been made to ensure that La Cave retains all the characteristics of a XV1 century palace cellar that makes is a historic, artistic, and architectural gem.
* De Robertis Restaurant De Robertis Restaurant occupies the terrace of the former palace formerly Known as Palazzo Xara, presently housing the Hotel Castille, that belonged to Capitano Giacomo De Robertis. The building itself was built at the turn of the XVI century by a renowed Maltese Architect. De Robertis is one of the longest established restaurants in Valletta. Located across the road from the Auberge de Castille et Portugal, the restaurant is well known for its refined cuisine. The open-air terrace dining area has spectacular views of Valletta, The Grand Harbour and surrounding towns providing a very romantic setting at night with the glimmering lights of all the towns beneath. The menu includes a fusion of Italian, Meditterranean, French and local cuisine all beautiffully presented to patrons in a lavish way. Definetly one of the best venues for lunch and dinner in Valletta whether if it is for an informal business lunch or just for leisure.
* The facilities that the hotel provides include a 24-hour reception, a delightful coffee shop which formerly housed the stables. There is a comfortable sitting room, television room, and also reading lounges on every floor.
